As the owner/operator of Stahl’s Painting Services,
I began my painting career soon after graduating high school in 1988.

Hi. I’m Matt Stahl, and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself.
As the owner/operator of Stahl’s Painting Services,
I began my painting career soon after graduating high school in 1988.
Being a recent graduate, I was able to land a job as a painting apprentice where I did nothing but masking, caulking, and putty work for approximately two years. I then graduated to brush and roll work. The next skills I learned to master were staining and lacquering. Finally I became a “sprayman” and was able to spray all types of paints, stains, and lacquers.
My supervisors in the mid-90s recognized my conscientious attitude and strong work ethic, and at this point I was offered a job as a Customer Service Manager for the company. I now ran a crew of 12 painters. More importantly, though, I started to interface with customers as I scheduled painting and follow-up with them which taught me valuable skills in customer relations and communication.
I also was developing relations with the builders of the houses we were painting. This paid off about 6 years later when a job as an estimator came open at another painting firm. I was recommended to the owner of that firm, and having built a great reputation, I landed this new job.
As an estimator, I met with potential customers in their homes to discuss their ideas and aspirations for their projects. This job rounded out my experience as a professional painter.
I now had all the skills from meeting with potential customers to scheduling, performing, and managing the work, to follow-up with the customer to ensure satisfaction.
I decided it was time to go out on my own, because in this way I could best control my customer’s experience and the product. I started Stahl’s Painting Services and haven’t looked back since. I bring that same work ethic, attention to detail, and concern for my customer’s satisfaction to my own business that earned me promotions as an employee.
